This chapter discusses the various geometrically nonlinear options available, including large strain, large deflection, stress stiffening, pressure load stiffness, and spin softening. Only elements with displacements degrees of freedom are applicable. Not included in this section are multi-status elements (such as COMBIN40, discussed in Element Library) and the eigenvalue buckling capability (discussed in Buckling Analysis).
